Just outside of Vancouver BC is a fish hatchery.. These are wild salmon coming home to the same mountain stream where they were hatched.
This is one of the greatest ideas of all time.. salmon hatch out in the small creek, go off to live their life of about 7 years, then return to the same spot to spawn. At this river they jump the fish ladder right into a salmon processing plant. Eggs are harvested, the fish are cleaned, and immediatly sent to to Vancouver where they become the main course of a delicious fish dinner. Yum !
I had one of the best sockeye salmon fish tacos I have ever had on that trip to Vancouver. Probably that shiny guy on the right.
