This cool little building is in downtown Elloree was built during WWII as a station for ground observers looking for airplanes that could be attacking the US. There were hundreds of these around the country, many in SC. Yeah, the people of Elloree were actually concerned that they could be the subject of an attack, and volunteers manned the building.
