Ernest Lee is a self taught artist who sets up on the side of the road in Columbia, SC. Most of his work is what he calls funky chickens and palm trees. Once I heard him tell a purchaser that he didn't know what to paint, but everybody liked chickens... so he paints chickens. I drive by the spot where Ernest sets up on my way to work and he always has someone there buying. Chickens are $70 each or 3 for $100.
If you have a chance to talk to Ernest you find that he is a caring guy who really loves people and is moved by current events. His best works are based on current events and popular culture.
